Taking time off at Iglupark in Tallinn
For years now we both have been curious about the world famous Estonian iglu huts and now we finally got a chance to visit one - right in the middle of Tallinn - at the scenic Iglupark.
Iglupark is located at the fast developing Noblessner Lennusadam area and contains 10 different iglu huts. Our iglu hut that accommodates two people was located right by the sea, so we had a beautiful scenic view to the sea horizon straight from the terrace and from the couch. As you can imagine, we got lost in the view all the time.
You might think that unbothered view to the sea is best, but we actually found that all the elements of the port makes it even better as there was always something to be curious about - the boats, the structures, the birds as well as the house itself ofcourse :)
Each iglu house has a spacous terrace and our terrace also had a lounge area - perfect to curl up in a blanket and enjoy the fabulous view.
Inside the Igluhut there is a small kitchen corner where you will find a small coffee machine, a water boiler as well as necessary cups and drinking glasses, plus a small fridge.
As it is a popular and saturated area, there are several restaurants and cafes nearby such as Lore Bistroo, Kampai, Põhjala and Robert´s Coffee. And if you are feeling lazy, you can also have your food delivered to the Iglupark. As we live so nearby, we took our food with us to enjoy by the sea.
In the middle of the hut there is a comfy couch with a view to the terrace and the sea. On the left from the couch there is a bed with another window with a cool view straight from the bed.
The door next to the kitchen leads to the bathroom with a shower cabin and a toilet.
All the windows have curtains, but it felt like a crime to close the beautiful views - especially in the evening when all the lights were on and the view looked like a painting.
The fairy lights on the terrace lit up automatically and created such a relaxing and romantic vibe. We were sure that the night time ise the best time at the Iglupark until we saw the sunrise straight from out bed.
On the terrace there is also a hot tub that was already hot when we arrived. To make even the cold evenings more enjoyable on the terrace, the Igluhut also has bath robes, slippers, blankets and an outdoor heater on the terrace.
The combination of the cold autumn evening, marina lights, great company and hot tub is surely one of the best autumn memories yet.
I have to also mention that as Noblessner is truly a fast developing and very popular area, so the area is also full of life - people walking and enjoying the marina and new beautiful buildings being built right behind the Iglupark. Sadly there is noise depending on the time of the day, but Iglupark has made sure you get your sleep and just in case provides each house with earplugs. We did not need any as we are early birds anyway :)
The Igluhut is no the only servic Iglupark offers. As they write - Iglupark brings together three essential parts of every person's life - work, leisure and health. There is a common sauna area, perfect for having a vacation as a bigger group, but also an option to book private iglusaunas. And as a cherry on top - there is also a bar in Iglupark, so you can enjoy a cooling drink after your sauna session.
And Iglupark also makes working a cool experience by offering an option to book a private igluoffice that is suitable for up to 10 people. On the first day of our stay Ben was also considering to book one, but all the igluoffices were already taken, so if you are interested, book in advance ;)
Iglupark is a place I could see us checking in again every now and then. It's the perfect solution even for the locals looking for a bit of time off and maybe even as a nice romantic quality time with your partner. And it was so nice for a change that we did not need to prepare for transportation and food etc as everything is nearby.
And I find it also a good solution for those who would like to have some me time alone. Times are crazy and it is important to find time for ourselves.
Or why not go and have a catch up getaway with an old friend you have not seen in a long time? To make it more fun, add the nearby Proto Invention Factory and Seaplane Harbour Museum to the plans. Iglupark has many possibilites and we truly recommend you find the best solution for you as well!
